One of the most exciting, unique and infectious forms of music still in existance today is Cajun music, and one of it's most dynamic performers is Jimmy C. Newman. Jimmy with his band "Cajun Country" combine the centuries-old sounds with modern country music of today. Born Near Big Mamou in Louisiana, Jimmy was raised in the traditional Cajun style. In the early days of his career he was a member of the Louisiana Hayride and has been a member of the world-famous Grand Ole Opry since 1956. His first hit was "Cry cry Darling", follwed by several top 10 country records until "A Fallen Star", which was a #1 country hit that crossed over into the pop charts. Cajun music in an experience and one cannot help hetting caught up in the excitement - try not to miss it.
