Jean Shepard

"Slippin' Away"

To be called a legend in the entertainment industry one must be a pioneer and accomplish many firsts. Jean Shepard has done just that. She starred on the first weekly network country music show, The Ozark Jubilee with country music great Red Foley. She was the first female country artist to sell a million records; the first country female artist to overdub her voice on record; the first to make a color TV commercial; she was one of the first to have her music taken aboard a space flight to the moon and the first female country singer to be with the Grand Ole Opry for thirty seven years.
Jean performed with the legendary Hank Thompson who was responsible for getting Jean a contract with Capitol Records where she remained for twenty one years selling millions of records, including these #1 hits: Dear John, Beautiful Lies, Many Happy Hangovers, Seven Lonely Days, Then He Touched Me, Satisfied Mind and Second Fiddle.
In the early 1970’s, Jean moved to United Artist Records where she continued to have #1 records such as: Slippin’ Away, Poor Sweet Baby, At The Time, I’m A Believer, and Tips Of My Fingers.
The Jean Shepard Show is a self-contained unit consisting of her four piece band known as “The Second Fiddles”. Jean and her group tour extensively throughout the United States, Canada and Europe.
The Jean Shepard Show is definitely a favorite anywhere they go!
