DANNY JONES

At the age of twelve on an old upright piano, Danny Jones discovered that God had given him the gift of music. "I had never had a lesson, but immediately sat down and started playing by ear!" Danny recalls. Later that same year, he was playing for a youth choir at church. He wrote his first song "He Will Be There" at sixteen. "It was a simple song" he says "but it contained a powerful message." Since then he has continued to develop his writing skills and has written over 200 songs.

In 1989 Danny recorded his first album, Somebody Cares For You with renowned producer Turley Richards who had produced Carmon's 1983 live album.

However due to laryngitis and other problems the album wasn't released until early 1991. Last year he felt the need to go back into the studio and re-cut the vocals. He now feels it is the project God wants it to be and is one of his best sellers to date.

1999 was a devastating year for Danny. In January his house caught fire and burned. He, his wife, Angela and their three children lost almost everything they owned. There was no insurance. He battled with a virus that sidelined him for more than two months. On top of it all, his mother died of cancer in September. Danny maintains "Through it all God was with me during that year."

His music ministry went national and international. Danny has seen a lot of doors opened for his music ministry. With five albums now completed, all penned by Danny, he finds it hard to be "Labeled" into a particular genre of music. "I compose many different styles of Christian music," he notes. His newest CD "Run" was inspired after he saw the movie "Titanic". "I began to hear this music in my head and spirit that lasted for two weeks!" he recalls. Finally, "I asked the Lord what are you trying to say to me?" He felt the Lord was telling him that just as those people were dying a physical death of drowning, there are thousands upon thousands out there "drowning" in a sea of despair, loneliness and heartache! In ten minutes the Lord had given him the lyrics to "Run" and he considers it to be the most powerful and beautiful song he has written to date.

"We are very anxious to get this song out on the air waves!" he says. Danny Jones is a very versatile musician and does all varieties of music and writes many different styles. Danny states, "I long to reach the wounded and hurting people with Love and Compassion. We are to be Jesus' hands upon the earth. We may be the only love they ever know!"
